Rolls-Royce unveils last three images of The Rankin: Spirit of Ecstasy collection

Well, you very well know that the Rolls-Royce’s Spirit of Ecstasy Flying Lady hood ornament turns a glorious 100 years this year. And aging with grace, the brand is now all set to show us what their collaboration with photographer Rankin has culminated into as the collection of 100 photographs inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy completes. Created by Charles Sykes for Lord Montagu, founder of The Car Illustrated, the lady graced his 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and the rest as they say is history.

The three images that would be unveiled are based on The Whisperer which is said to be “the earliest and most personal of Charles Sykes’ figurines which include a confidential finger to the lips, believed to be a sly nod to the long secrecy of Montagu’s 10 year love affair with Eleanor Thornton“.
Some of the images from The Rankin: Spirit of Ecstasy collection will also be put on public display in The Rankin Gallery, Los Angeles, and at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars stand at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
