Rolls-Royce’s new $47,000 Champagne Chest is the most extravagant way to transport your bubbly

Rolls-Royce has revealed a new Champagne Chest which is just as luxurious and extravagant as one would expect from anything that adorns the British marque’s logo on it. Described as an “accouterment intended to delight, suitable for the most extravagant of environments from a superyacht to the terrace of a private residence,” it matches the high quality and craftsmanship levels to which all uber-luxurious Rolls-Royce cars are made. The champagne chest has a machined aluminum and carbon fiber chassis which is covered in high-quality leather and Tudor Oak wood – same as found in actual Rolls-Royce cars. Designers have beautifully placed the Spirit of Ecstasy logo on it in the subtlest and most elegant manner.

On the press of a button, the top and sides of the chest extend outwards to reveal four hand-blown, crystal, champagne flutes “arranged to evoke memories of a V12 engine.” The case is illuminated from the central bay that highlight the flutes which have polished aluminum base with RR lettering on them. The sides of the Chest also deploy to reveal two hammocks to cradle the owner’s choice of Champagne. The lid also extends into a serving tray. “The Champagne Chest by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a contemporary and sociable addition to the Accessories Collection,” Gavin Hartley, Head of Bespoke Design at Rolls, commented. “The approach is that of designing a Rolls-Royce motor car; the finest materials are married with pinnacle engineering to provide an experience like no other. The Champagne Chest is crafted for those that seek a heightened sense of occasion in an elegant, entertaining manner and offers the irresistible allure of gadgetry.” The Rolls-Royce Champagne Chest will be available through the luxury automaker’s dealerships worldwide with a price-tag of £37,000 excluding local taxes (about $47,000).
