Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy emblem celebrates 100 years with Rankin’s photos

Rolls-Royce’s Spirit of Ecstasy Flying Lady emblem is 100 years old this year. To mark the celebrations Rolls-Royce has commissioned, the famed and iconic British photographer Rankin to create a series of images. They have allowed Rankin full artistic license to create portraits of modern-day version of the Spirit of Ecstasy using his personal interpretation. Rankin will develop a series of 100 photos to mark this momentous occasion. The two photos in this series which have been released, features Rankin’s wife Tuuli Shipster, a model. He has photographed her in close-up as well as in full-length picture in sensual profile draped in fabric, reminiscent of the original Spirit of Ecstasy.
