The 2017 Corvette Grand Sports borrows from the Z06, Stingray

The 2016 Geneva Motor Show played host to the 2017 Corvette Grand Sports from Chevrolet. Basically a muscled up version of the Corvette Stingray, the 2017 Grand Sports manages to conquer both road and track efficiently. It does borrow some parts from the legendary Z06 as well. It comes with the option of a 7-speed manual transmission or a 8-speed automatic transmission in both coupe and convertible renditions. That’s a lot to choose from.

Under the hood, the 2017 Corvette Grand Sports will be powered by the same supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine from the Stingray, so you can be assured of 450 ponies. The engine comes with its very own exhaust system and dry pump oiling to manage higher cornering forces. The new engine requires the hood to bulge a bit.

On the outside, the car rides on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that offer great grip around 19-inch rims. The efficient Brembo braking system offers reliability with the tuned suspension and standard electronic limited-slip differential. It also sports a new grille, front fender inserts, wider rear fenders and the Watkins Glen Grey Metallic coat is simply brilliant, as is the Tension Blue option.
