The 577 bhp Mercedes-AMG GT R is made for the tracks

Not too long from now you will see a swift motored machine headed in your general direction with vertical slats on its grill and a three-pointed glistening star staring down between beaming headlamps. It may seem to resemble the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL but it isn’t. it’s a bigger force to reckon with and is called the Mercedes-AMG GT R. This beauty of a car looks like the typical mash-up of a luxe-super category drive but it is purely built to live its days on the track.

The twin-turbo 4-liter V8 engine is a force to reckon with, especially since it conjures up a bhp of 577 and 513 lb ft of torque. A transaxle 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox is at the driver’s disposal keep this raging beast in complete control. Such power would need a design that supports the tremendous rush that it could encounter. A smart carbon-flap present around the engine area lowers when the car touches 50 mph, to change the airflow under the car. This effectively enhances the downforce. The GT R also sports lower side skirts and large cooling ducts at the rear end.
