The age of the aero coupes is upon us again and the Vision Mercedes Maybach 6 is testimony to it. This glorious 18.5-foot long concept was expected to remain a concept but has been declared a reality by the German automaker. It will make its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The aerodynamic aspect in the design sails through the classic design principle of a low roof line, expansive hood and extremely rear-positioned seating. It is said that the machine will boast 738-horsepower via an electric engine that will offer a range of 200 miles. Then come the doors. The gullwing functionality makes the beast look extremely intimidating, even in its vulnerable open-door state. On the inside you can expect an elm wood trim, leather seats and large screens sporting a digital overlay across the windshield.
Take all this amazingness and watch it dart from 0-100 kmph in just 4 seconds. This would be an absolute pleasure to behold. The 80 kWh battery sure seems to do a great job in powering this one economically, especially in an age where electric driving is still finding its ground.
The car may look like a 2-seater but it accommodates 2 + 2 seats and with a good amount of room spared. We cannot wait for Pebble Beach to happen.
