EV’s, alternate fuel vehicles and hybrids are extremely popular in Japan and the market is single handedly dominated by the likes of local players Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda and Toyota. In a bid to get a strong hold into this market BMW will be opening ‘BMW i Megacity studio’ which will be the first of its kind in the world by the German automaker that would be selling the brands ‘i’ vehicles. Currently only limited to the budget i3 (Electric) and the performance plugin hybrid i8 the lineup will see a lot more additions in the years to come.
From the next month the showroom will also be starting car sharing services for the i3. The BMW i Megacity studio Tokyo will be opening its doors for business from tomorrow.
