The first Airbus A380 flight on October 25-26 – Book now as the money goes to charity


The first Airbus A380 is planned for handover by Airbus to Singapore Airlines on Monday, October 15, at a ceremony in Toulouse, France. The aircraft will be configured with 471 seats in three classes: Economy, Business, and the new Singapore Airlines Suites: a class beyond First. After a few days, the aircraft will fly to Singapore’s Changi Airport: the world’s first A380 home airport where the crew and ground staff can be familiarized with the superjumbo. The first flight will be made on October 25 when Singapore Airlines flight A380 will leave for Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport on
and return to Singapore on Friday, October 26.

All the 471 seats will be auctioned on eBay for charity starting August 2007. ExxonMobil will be donating fuel and eBay its services for the charity.
100% of the proceeds of the auction will be donated to charities. They are:
— One-third to Singapore’s Community Chest
— One-third split between the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick,
and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, both in Sydney
— One-third to Medecins Sans Frontieres, also known as Doctors Without
Borders.
