This 24-karat gold-plated bicycle costs an astronomical $470,000

If your love of bicycles goes beyond its wheels, spokes and gears, British luxury goods company Goldgenie has embellished a men’s British racing bike with 24k gold to elevate this modest form of transport to another level. With a lustrous layer of 24k gold on the entire structure, from the tip of the drop handlebars to the wheel stays as well as every ridge of the gear chain, the gilded bicycle should not be considered merely transportation.

The luxury bicycle comes with a suggested retail price of £250,000 ($470,345). You can also get it customized with a selection of different finishes on the saddle and handlebars, including exotic skins and fine leathers and a variety of precious stones.
