Virgin America’s Nerdbird charter flight sells for $49000 on Cyber Monday

Virgin America offered a treat of sorts to its customers (those that are attending the CES in January) this Monday when it offered one of the unique Cyber Monday deals. Virgin America offered customers the opportunity to charter an entire flight for just $49,000! The deal apparently sold within minutes of the announcement, with more than 180 offers being submitted for the charter flight. The customers attending the CES in Vegas this January were given the opportunity to grab this offer to charter a round-trip flight for 136 guests to LV from San Francisco. But the highlight of this deal was the buyer’s opportunity to affix his or her own logo decal alongside the plane’s Virgin America logo.

Besides this, the buyer and all guests on the flight would also enjoy perks like year-long elite frequent-flier status. The offer also included 136 passes to 2013 CES from Jan. 7 to Jan. 9, including the Jan.7 Preshow Keynote and Jan. 8 Keynote Addresses.
Virgin America offered the Cyber Monday deal in partnership with online luxury retailer Gilt City. Virgin America and Gilt City termed the charter deal as “#nerdbird for Hire.” Now, this is one hard to resist the deal.
