The only time that a car’s paintjob is expensive enough to buy another car is on one of those car makeover shows (we know you still watch Pimp My Ride reruns, we know!) or maybe in Dubai. But eye-watering expensive paint jobs are apparently a thing now, since the green coat on this Porsche 911 Turbo costs nearly $100,000.
Many readers couldn't believe the "close to six figures" statement regarding the price of the Phyton Green "Chromaflair" paint on this Turbo S. Swipe right for the proof, thanks to reader @jcaobs. €82,645. For this car, the CXX options (special wishes requiring custom tailoring) alone total over €107k. The car is already on display at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur booth at the Nürburgring for the AvD-Oldtimer-Grandprix. Local readers should certainly check it out and share with us your impressions of the color. Car photo courtesy of @minimaldigital. #PTSRS
The paint color is called Python Green Chromaflair and is seen on a 91.2-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S as part of a customization by Porsche Exclusive of for an unnamed client. The costly shade bears a list price of € 82,645 which is around $97,395 (at current exchange). Instagram user @ptrs also posted an image of the build sheet which confirms the exorbitant price of the paint.
Chromaflair paint is also available in blue, gold, and violet. Judging by the picture of the car, it appears to be a pearly green that varies to yellow. Not sure if you guys love it; to us it looks good, but not special enough to justify the price.
The unimpressed feeling definitely kicks in when you realize that you could buy a whole other car – a Porsche 911 Carrera in fact – for less than the cost of this green paint.
