Wine lovers of the world, rejoice! France (no surprise here as this is where five of the six noble grapes were born) is opening a wine theme park called La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. Not your typical theme park with wine fountains, this is more a 10-story museum devoted to wine. The building itself is a masterpiece designed to evoke wine’s soul and liquid nature, or a swirling glass of wine if you may.
The attraction has 20 themed areas, wine-tasting sessions, educational wine courses & tours, a restaurant, and a wine bar with more than 50 types of wine. There is also a simulated boat tour, which takes you on a merchant’s galley around the globe. They also have a special wine boutique where you can purchase over 80 different types of wine. Definitely, THE theme park for every wine lover.
La Cite du Vin is slated to open on June 1, 2016 and admission is priced at USD 22 per person.
