Delta Airlines Offers Lie-Flat Seats


With so much competition in who gives the best seating option heating up, it comes as no surprise that Delta Airlines has something new to offer. It is the first U.S. airline to announce fully horizontal personal sleeper suites in Business Elite Class. Introducing seats by Contour Premium Aircraft Seating they expect to roll out in fall 2008 when the airline takes delivery of two new Boeing 777 Long Range (LR) aircraft. The sleeper suites will also feature Delta’s industry-leading entertainment system offering on-demand, digital video, and music at every suite. Featuring reclining seat that adjusts to multiple comfortable positions, including a completely flat surface offering travelers a 6-foot 3-inch bed. It has a privacy screen which also incorporates a pull-out meal table. The foldout video monitor is a cool feature too. The integrated footrest and personal stowage compartment for bags, shoes, or blankets are thoughtful, and with immediate access to the aisle so you don’t have to disturb another passenger when exiting your seat.

All these features make the idea of traveling the Delta long distance an appealing one. The airline also plans to offer a lie-flat option on its 767 aircraft.
