Just in time before London’s supercar season kicks off, Etihad has launched a special service for the superrich to transport their cars with ease and proper safety to enjoy the summer holiday season. Called the ‘FlightValet’, the service was launched on Sunday under the Middle Eastern airline major’s cargo and logistics arm. According to Etihad, the launch of FlightValet was made to coincide with the seasonal surge in demand for vehicle shipments to popular holiday destinations in Europe. “We are delighted to introduce this new tailored product to the marketplace,” said Etihad Airways managing director for cargo and logistics, Abdulla Mohammed Shadid. “Demand from our customers has grown significantly in recent years, and in an effort to improve our service offering, we have introduced vehicle handling capability at key new stations in 2018.”
Every year Etihad Cargo transports hundreds of high-value vehicles on its passenger and freighter aircraft, and FlightValet has been designed to further simplify the whole experience. According to the airline, the service will be offered through a dedicated team that will oversee the swift, safe and secure delivery of the vehicle to its final destination. The serviced will be available throughout the year to cater to racing enthusiasts worldwide wishing to take their cars around iconic racetracks such as Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009. Additionally, FlightValet will also offer car dealers and manufacturers the opportunity to move vehicles globally with more ease, with particular readiness to cater to the Italian supercars market at Milan Malpensa airport on Etihad Airways passenger aircraft, as well as chartered and scheduled freighter aircraft.
