Maldives set to open the world’s biggest underwater restaurant in November


Fancy dining 18 feet below sea level with fish, turtles, and manta rays swimming above you? As we all know, the Maldives is an underwater paradise,e and what better way to get a unique underwater experience than dining with the stars of the ocean. Already home to the world’s first underwater restaurant, Maldives this time around is all set to open an even bigger one.

The luxurious, adults-only Hurawalhi Island Resort plans to open a “5.8” undersea restaurant aptly named after the depth of its location underwater. Designed by architects MJ Murphy, the restaurant will seat 16 guests and be booked for underwater weddings seating up to 20 guests. Tuck into mouthwatering cuisine by renowned Executive Chef Shannon Batten whilst you take in your marine surroundings through a transparent, domed ceiling.
