The Luxurylaunches guide to the 5 most Instagrammable restaurants in Asia

We’re undoubtedly from the same breed, considering our primary concern is wining-and-dining in style. Even more so, if you’re looking to measure up that Instagram feed. Whether it’s that impeccably plated Som Tam salad or that picture-perfect Hazelnut Mousse, it’s currently all about Instagram-ing that gourmet fare.

Don’t worry, we’ve scoured our continent and plated up 5 of the most Instagram-Worthy restaurants to jazz up your home feed. From the postcard-perfect setting at the Rayadee, Krabi to the 38th floor-perched restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo, we’ve covered it all.

Sushi Sora
At: The Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo
We believe sushi and scenic settings are an ideal combination. Perched on the 38th floor of the uber-lavish hotel, Sushi Sora commands unprecedented views of gorgeous Tokyo. If you are a group of eight, it’s simply ideal! Carved from 350 year-old Japanese cypress and boasting colossal floor-to-ceiling windows, the eight-seat dining counter is our personal favourite! With Master Chef Yuji Imaizumi preparing the sushi, you’re guaranteed an elegantly-plated gourmet feast which is Insta-pretty!

The Grotto
At: Rayavadee, Krabi
When you arrive at The Grotto by your stylish speedboat, don’t be entirely taken aback; the stunning scenery is just the onset of your evening ahead. Soon, you’ll be surrounded by white-washed beaches and lush jungle greenery. Built into an age-old cave, the restaurant is befittingly titled The Grotto. If you happen to be visiting soon, we’d recommend an late evening-early dinner so you can capture an Instagram-perfect image of that sunset-tinged sky.

Dining on the Rocks
At: Six Senses Samui
We’d all agree that captivating Instagram uploads boast of delicate day-beds, cheery cocktails and scintillating sunsets! Table 99 and Table 100 at Dining on the Rocks exclusively plate up simply that. It’s you, your intimate ones and the Gulf of Siam, sipping on some wine. We simply relished their Chicken roulade, quail egg, fried egg espuma, and egg yolk confit, especially the Master Chef style adornment.

Kaiseki Mizuki
At: Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto
Adorned with pleasant pink lights and a rather long wooden table, Kaiser Mizuki is one of Kyoto’s most celebrated restaurants. Exquisitely prepared small dishes are presented on tableware designed by contemporary artists. Each dish is plated so impeccably, it only calls for some Instagram-ing.

Nama
At: Amanpuri, Phuket
If you happen to visit Nama at the Aman group’s flagship property in Phuket, you’d spend your time only Instagram-ing their culinary earthenware and here’s why. Bespoke earthenware has been commissioned for Nama including bizen ware known for its unglazed aesthetic and shigaraki ware, which uses 17th century glazing and colouring techniques. Most importantly, they complement Nama’s fresh and flavoursome dishes. If you glance around post your photo-session, you’d be in nestled on Amanpuri’s scallop-shaped beach, fragranced with the aroma of jasmine blossoms.
