This is the worlds first airport lounge on a beach

You can survive job because of vacations. Virgin Holidays and Richard Branson’s Tour Company understands the return plight and therefore they want you to be as excited for routine as you are for a holiday. Next year, they will replace the endless wait at an uncomfortable airport with sandy toes and salty hair at Barbados. Won’t you love it if the check-in counter is a bar? This is an airport lounge meeting a beach club!

The ‘Departure Beach’ is at a minimal price of $25 per adult, $15 per child. It includes hotel pick up, use of private airline check in and bag drop facilities, and of course, entrée to the beach, sated with sun loungers and umbrellas. In addition to the oceanfront vibes, guests are treated to refreshments and lunch. If you are too sunburned, relax in an air conditioned lounge with a giant plasma TV, place the kids in game room, or you can simply shower. When it’s departure time, Departure Beach will transfer you to the airport terminal, luggage- free, to clear security and board (plastic bags for your bathing suits will be provided).

You must have a Virgin Holidays booking to access the beach, even if you have a Virgin Atlantic flight. Those booked into the Savannah Beach hotel through Virgin Holidays, or whose Virgin Holidays cruises terminate in Barbados, can also access the Departure Beach for free. Let’s make Virgin Holidays expand this fabulous concept of Departure Beach to passengers on other airlines as well.
