Titanic 2 is set to sail in 2022 on the same ill fated route

For all those who had hoped to set foot on the Titanic, here’s your chance to do so! Yes, that right! While bringing back the tattered ship from its ruins is impossible, a fitting replica of the Titanic is now under construction and it plans to set sail by the year 2022. Owned by the Blue Star Line, the project aims to provide a classic sailing experience to its guests, much like we’d expect the original Titanic to have done!

Interestingly, the replica ship will sail along the same route as its muse, making the voyage all the more interesting and nerve-wrecking. The vessel will follow the historic route between England and the U.S. in the summer, and then undertake world cruises through the end of the first year. To ensure you a doom-less experience, the ship will come fitted with the latest navigation and safety systems, alongside a range of luxurious offerings. The Titanic II, as it is christened, will accommodate 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members and will ape the same cabin layout as the original ship.

Commenting on the project, Blue Star Line’s chairman, Clive Palmer said, “The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York, but she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.” Here’s wishing the Titanic II a safe voyage in the future!
