Before you fly off to Paris in September, take a pit stop in Singapore this month, this week to see the largest pop up store of Hublot in the prime Civic Plaza at Ngee Ann City. Until august 26, you can witness the store that landed with a ‘Big Bang’ in the heart of Singapore’s prime shopping area Orchard Road. The installation marks a few significant celebrations. Firstly, this is the watchmaker’s largest and widest exhibition on the global stage. Secondly, it celebrates 10 years of its iconic creation – the Big Bang. Third – the event was a launch pad of the Red Dot Bang, a limited edition timepiece exclusively for Singapore. It commemorates 50 years of Singapore’s reputation as the Little Red Dot nation. The Hublot ‘Red Dot’ Bang was launched in a dual manner – 50 pieces of Hublonium to honour 50 years of Singapore and 10 exclusive limited editions of ‘Red Dot’ Bang produced in yellow gold case to honour the Big Bang wonder. Another exclusive timepiece launched at the event, exclusive also to Singapore, was the Hublot Manufacture MP-05 La Ferrari. The watches were launched with the help of Hublot’s partner and watch retailer The Hour Glass.
Fourth significance of the Art of Fusion pop up exhibition, and considered to be the highlight, was a wrestling arena with Lucha Libre – a professional wrestling roots in Mexico. The Lucha Libre Demonstration and Clinic was held for four days. The long hand of friendship connected two regions, two cultures through the strings of tradition and appreciation of craftsmanship.
