Hublot’s limited edition trio of Big Bang watches celebrate Scuderia Ferrari’s 90th birthday

Hublot has released a trio of limited edition Big Bang watches to celebrate Scuderia Ferrari’s 90th birthday. The two brands officially entered into a partnership in 2012 and has launched many special edition watches over the years as a part of its collaborative efforts. Last year, partnership spawned the limited edition Hublot x Ferrari timepiece made from of carbon fiber from Ferrari’s actual race cars. The latest Hublot Big Bang Scuderia Ferrari 90th Anniversary watch, available in three different versions, is inspired by present and early Ferrari models and celebrates the high-tech materials used in their construction. The first of the three pays tribute to the Ferrari’s early days and some of its most iconic models. The Platinum case of the watch resembles the visible metal parts of the original Ferrari models, along with the perforated leather strap that mirrors the bucket seats of the classic Ferraris. The yellow hands and indices evoke the color of the original Ferrari speedometers.

The second special edition uses 3d carbon just like the present Ferrari racing cars use in their construction. A material called Nomex is used in the construction of the strap. The fire resistant synthetic material is used to create racing driver’s suits. The use of color red on the hands and indices is a nod to Ferrari’s F1 racing team. The final special edition version is the most eye-catching of the three. It has a transparent sapphire crystal case and a strap that features a “Kevlar” look. It celebrates the future of Ferrari. All the three versions use Hublot’s UNICO movement and a flyback chronograph with a 72-hour power reserve. The special edition watches are available in a limited run of 90 examples, with ten collector sets featuring all three watches. The watches are priced at $34,600 USD for 3D carbon, $40,900 USD for the platinum and $69,000 USD for the sapphire edition.
