HYT’s new H4 Gotham watch is a first in many ways for the brand. Not only is it HYT’s first creation to feature a case made entirely from diabolically rigid 3DTP™ carbon, it is also the first one to display the time off-center on its bezel, rather than on the flange. This HYT watch comes with an all-new technical strap, combining rubber and Nomex™ technical fibre, a first for the brand.
The unique skeleton watch features openworked parts in the upper segment of its caliber. The dial has been eliminated allowing the entire gear train and part of the barrel to be visible. A sapphire disc, secured by three anchor points at 4 and 8 o’clock, houses the minute indicator and the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. In the lower segment, the cage housing the pistons has been completely redesigned allowing the two barrels to be almost entirely visible thanks to a new cut in the 4–8 o’clock segment. The watch features indices on the bezel rather than on the dial.
The Gotham H4 boasts a new sapphire case-back with a chromium-plated metallized finish that serves two functions: in contact with the skin, the metallized finish reproduces a smoky glass effect while on the movement side, inside the case, the chromium-plated finish gives the illusion of a mirror.
HYT’s latest offering has a carbon case adorned with a rubber sheathed screw-down DLC titanium crown. The HYT exclusive skeleton mechanical hand-wound movement has hand-beveled bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève and provides a power reserve of 65 hours.
The H4 Gotham watch is a limited edition with 50 pieces and comes with a wallet busting price tag of $79,000.
