IWC Connect will make their traditional watches ‘Smart’

Smart-watches might seem like the next best thing to the technology world, but true watch connoisseurs still prefer timepieces hailing from the mechanical era. Keeping this in mind, luxury Swiss timepiece manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has managed to create the perfect blend between a modern day smart-watch and a timepiece that manages to stick to its roots, with the IWC Connect. Quoting Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, in an extract from Slash Gear, “Seeing that many of our customers and brand ambassadors are wearing connected devices alongside their IWC watches, we chose to work with a like-minded digital technology company to develop an elegant, aesthetically complementary solution that eliminates the need to have additional devices on the opposing wrist to your IWC.”

For now, not a lot of details have been handed out by the manufacturer in regards to the IWC Connect watch. However, given the fact that the Internet of Things is destined to be the next big thing this world will welcome home, we expect the watch to be a device that’ll give wearers control over connected technology in their vicinity. More details are expected from the manufacturer in the upcoming months. Do come back for more on the IWC Connect.
