Be it the simplicity of the construction or the artistry in crafting the body, watches by the Swiss brand Jaquet Droz are different from the rest and exude brilliance. The Bird Repeater timepiece, the Petite Heure Minute Relief Seasons collection and the Lady 8 are all fine examples of the Swiss watchmaker’s exquisite creations. Ahead of the BaselWorld 2014 world watch and jewelry show, Jaquet Droz has introduced another brilliant timepiece, the new Grande Seconde SW Côtes de Genève model. Thanks to its two off-centered dials that are shaped to form the figure eight, which is Jaquet Droz’s lucky number, the Grande Seconde SW is immediately recognized as a member of the Grande Seconde family.
A sporty version of the Grande Seconde, the SW is decorated with Côtes de Genève motif which gives it an uber-luxe finish. Côtes de Genève or Geneva Stripes ornamental pattern is typical of traditional Swiss watch making and is made right onto the new anthracite gray dial. The components of a dial, including the index figures, hands and rings, are made from white gold and highlighted using BGW9 Super-LumiNova. The casing is crafted from stainless steel and measures 45mm in diameter, and SW is propelled by Jaquet Droz 2663A-S self-winding mechanical movement with ruthenium treatment, double barrel, and 18-carat white gold oscillating weight. The strap is rolled-edge hand-made anthracite gray alligator woth tone on tone stitches and steel folding clasp. There is no word on the pricing and the availability as of yet.
