Maurice Lacroix might be considered to be one of the younger brands in the luxury watch, but that certainly hasn’t stopped the folks running the show from taking some adventurous steps! Since 2008, the brand has developed more than 12 movements in-house and is today considered to be one of the most technically creative watchmakers. Most recently, Maurice Lacroix unveiled the Masterpiece Gravity Harrods Exclusive Limited Edition, a one-of-a-kind watch that embraces the “naked” design philosophy. The watch’s exposed mainplates with decorated dial-sides give it an edgy yet sophisticated look. The left-hand side of the dial sports the balance wheel while the top dial indicates the hours and the minute. The bottom dial on the other hand sports the seconds hand.
The Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity Harrods Exclusive Limited Edition watch uses the caliber ML230 that is visible from the sapphire back of the timepiece. The ML230 is an automatic caliber using 5 jewels, an 18,000vph operating speed, and a 50-hour power reserve. The watch’s bridges, cocks and plates come coated in rhodium while the 43mm wide case is crafted out of stainless steel. The watch comes with a black alligator strap and is water resistant to 50 meters. Only three examples of this timepiece will be created, each with a price tag of £9,350 (approximately $13,900).
