Omega to display Speedmaster ‘57 at Baselworld 2013

This year at Baselworld, Omega will introduce the Speedmaster ’57 Co-Axial Chronograph -a tribute to the original Speedmaster introduced in 1957 which was known for its reliability and timeless design. It is characterized by design elements originally seen in the first Speedmaster model such as the straight lugs and the flat bracelet.

The model is powered by Omega’s exclusive in-house Co-Axial calibers – 9300/9301 incorporating chronograph functions. The column-wheel chronograph has 12-hour and 60-minute counter hands placed on the same sub-dial at 3 o’clock. It also has a central chronograph seconds hand, a small seconds hand on the sub-dial at 9 o’clock, and a date window at the 6 o’clock position.

The Speedmaster ’57 has been created with a 41.5 mm ceramic bezel case available in a selection of metals like rose gold, titanium, or classic stainless steel. The watches come in either a matching bracelet or a brown/black leather strap. The stability of the watch allows Omega to offer a 4-year warranty.

The leather strap model will come for 8900 Swiss francs (TBA), while for the bracelet model, add another 600 francs (TBA). Omega will dazzle at Baselworld 2013 with their novelties that include a new Speedmaster 9300 line-up (Dark Side of the Moon and ’57 editions) and Aqua Terra 15.000.
