One Million Dollar Big Bang watch by Hublot

I cannot determine whether Big Bang is a piece of jewelry or a time-piece. What do you say? I guess I’ll settle for a flawless ‘fusion of jewelry and watch’! Created by Hublot, the One Million Dollar Big Bang watch is completely covered (case, dial, buckle) by more than 493 Top Wesselton “baguette” diamonds! It’s the first-ever watch or let me be precise, flying tourbillion, realized in “serti mysterieux”. And if you are wondering what’s that then allow me to throw some light on it. The serti mysterieux” (mysterious setting) is a technique of jewelry invented by Van Cleef & Arpels (Paris) to hide under the stones all the frame of jewels. You can only see the diamonds or the stones, not the structure which is holding them.

More than 2,000 hours have gone into its making, from design through to research and development, machine programming, choice of (micro-) precision tools, the cutting of the diamonds, the visual examination of each part, setting, casing, and fine-tuning. Unveiled at Baselworld, this exotic timepiece displays time dazzlingly!
