Piaget looks to Venice for their new Altiplano Enamel watch

Swiss watchmaker Piaget has sought inspiration for their Mythical Journeys collection in the romantic streets of Venice. The famous St. Mark’s Clock Tower has inspired the new watches with its brilliant blue zodiac clock face featuring on the dial of Piaget’s beautiful offering. The Altiplano watch uses the paillonné (spangled) enamel and relief engraving techniques to stunning effect. It also features the 12 zodiac motifs amidst a spray of stars.

The 40mm in diameter case is available in 18k white and yellow gold and houses the thin, hand-wound mechanical Piaget 830P movement which has a 60 hour power reserve. The Mythical Journey logo is also seen on the sapphire crystal caseback. A brown alligator strap with gold pin buckle completes the look.

Although we love the idea of buying a gem like this for its own sake, it also lends itself to be a beautiful gift to someone with whom you’ve explored the wonders of Venice.
