Swatch launches Big Classic Collection with a gentleman’s club themed Harrods pop-up

Typically we have seen Swiss watchmaker brand Swatch experiment with tangy and sharp colors which has come to become a hallmark for the company. But the company aims to shift its design language with the introduction of an all new range. The ‘Big Classic’ range is a part of the company’s 2014 Spring/Summer collection and comprises a set of seven new watches that offer a more conservative and distinctly mature take on classic Swatch aesthetics. All the seven timepieces from the collection are based on the company’s 41mm stainless steel ‘Irony’ casing which is slightly bigger than the usual Swatch watches. The collection also makes use of premium materials, offering an array of crocodile leather and stainless steel straps for the simple yet attractive designs.

To celebrate the launch of the new collection, Swatch has collaborated with Harrods to open a gentlemen’s club themed pop-up. The 50sq m space temporary concept store in London’s famous Knightsbridge department exudes craftsmanship, style and tradition. The pop-up will be in place for two month before a permanent store comes up and features wooden floors, sharp blues and red walls with tailor’s chalk accents on the walls offering a hint of Saville Row. The store also includes a lounge area complete with vintage, leather chesterfield arm chairs that promises to offer a relaxing, luxurious ambience for buyers.
