Van Cleef and Arpels’ Charms Extrordinaire collection has been around for a while and we are often treated to fresh interpretations and variations on the classic design each of which feature’s the collection’s signature dangling charm for a touch of playfulness. The newest addition to this range is the Charms Extrordinaire Désir watch, featuring a beautiful lilac motif on its dial, a reflection of the vivacity of a new romance and young love.
Unveiled at the SIHH 2015, the Désir watch features a mother-of-pearl dial detailed with lilacs and crocuses crafted in cabochonné enamel work. The dial glitters with pink sapphires, amethysts and yellow gold details. The watch has a 32mm diameter white gold case contains a quartz movement and features a bezel set with diamonds, pink and purple sapphires while its signature white gold rotating charm is studded with purple and yellow sapphires. The case back is also lavishly detailed with engraved gold echoing the emblematic flower of the dial. A pink alligator strap with a white gold diamond studded buckle completes the look of this watch.
The Désir is only one among three Charms Extrordinaire watches that form Van Cleef’s flower inspired Langage des Fleurs series, the other two being the Amour watch and the Espérance watch. Both these watches feature their own beautiful floral inspirations and that memorable enamel detailing.
