A VW Beetle autographed by Vladimir Putin was auctioned for 20,000 Euros.

While tradition dictates that at most weddings, the bride and groom and their families are the most significant personalities; at the Austrian foreign minister’s wedding recently held in Vienna, guests got an opportunity to rub shoulders with perhaps one of the most influential persons on the planet – the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The paparazzi indeed had a field day at the wedding of Karin Kneissl and businessman Wolfgang Meilinger in Vienna as a plethora of foreign dignitaries and eminent personalities graced the occasion; their muse for the evening was unquestionably the Russian President who was invited as a personal guest of the bride.

The wedding sustained a whole weeks’ worth of news cycle as Putin signed a Volkswagen Beetle, during the celebrations which was donated to the gala by the bride. Just when one thought a signature has no value, the vehicle went under the hammer for a whopping 20,000 euros.
Choosing to be anonymous, an Austrian businessman dropped the amount on the autographed vehicle, proceeds from the sale of the car funds will go to charity.
