A $10 million blue and pink diamond ring sets the record at Sotheby’s auction

If you thought the vivid pink was a run-away hit, then you haven’t seen the vivid orange diamond ring set yet. It bagged the world record for price per carat as it went under the Sotheby’s hammer in Hong Kong. The ring sold for a whopping $2.9 million, which means that the per carat at a price comes at $705,587, the highest price for a vivid orange diamond at any auction. Other colored diamonds that ruled the auction were a 6-carat fancy vivid blue diamond and pink diamond ring that fetched $10 million, setting a record price of a vivid blue diamond at $1.7 million per carat.
