A $2.6 million bid for lunch with Warren Buffet

A once in a lifetime opportunity to have lunch with Warren Buffet will soon be a dream come true for one lucky soul. The billionaire investor’s 12th annual charity luncheon auction on eBay drummed up a whopping $$2,626,411 million. The winning bidder, who so far has remained anonymous, bid around $2,345,678 million. However, in an attempt to break last year’s record, he soon added another $300,000 to that amount after the auction had closed.

The online auction winner and his or her seven lucky friends will have lunch at Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in New York City. The date and time will be decided jointly by the bidder and Warren Buffet. The proceeds from this auction will go to the Glide Foundation, a San Francisco-based charity that helps the homeless. Mr. Buffet was introduced to this Foundation by his late first wife, Susan. According to the Glide Foundation, Warren Buffet’s lunch auctions have raised roughly $9 million over 12 years.
