A rate Persian rug becomes the world’s costliest carpet after it earns $9.6m

Alladin was one lucky guy; he could fly around a magic carpet, no traffic woes. Well you can be the proud owner of a stunning rare 17th Century Persian rug, but it can fly. The pretty rug was sold by Christie’s to an anonymous buyer for $9.6m, which is 20 times the original price. The previous record of the most expensive rug was a silk Isfahan rug from the early 1600s for a whopping $3.6m.
