Amy Winehouse’s polka dotted Back To Black dress fetches $67,500

The tragic death of young Amy Winehouse has left a huge void in the world of music, but memories of her are still alive. At an auction in central London, her white polka-dotted chiffon dress sold for £43,200 ($67,500). This was the dress she had worn on the cover of her Back to Black album. A South American fashion museum won the bid. All the proceeds would benefit the foundation set-up by Amy Winehouse’s dad Mitch Winehouse after her death. In his statement, he expressed, “Amy would be so proud that her name is making a difference to young lives and especially that her music is directly making life better for vulnerable young people.” The auction, which Kerry Taylor Auctions organized, also auctioned off dresses worn by Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor.
