Hong Kong seems to be the new auction hub. That so much better for Christie’s who after initially selling a dazzling Kashmir Cartier bracelet bejeweled with nine sapphires and diamonds totaling up to 49.61 carats, for $902,000 in 1988, they managed to earn a staggering $6.9 million; a full $1.7 million hike by today’s pricing standards. The 1960-made bracelet was bid for an unnamed buyer over the phone.
Apart from the most expensive bracelet, the highest priced individual item sold was a single-strand jadeite bead necklace made of 51 glassy jadeite beads that earned a whopping $7.33million.
