Edward Hopper’s painting becomes the most expensive online painting auctioned by Christie’s

Edward Hopper’s paintings seem to be quite high on wish list of avid collectors, as the American Art auction in New York, via Christie’s LIVE sold the artist’s October on Cape Cod for $9,602,500, making it the most expensive sale by any international auction house. Estimated to fetch between $8,000,000 and $12,000,000, the painting dated to 1946, the painting shows a house standing on a deserted road in Cape Cod, which is also the home to many of Hopper’s masterpieces. Set in autumn, the oil painting has a very calm appeal
