Singapore glittered green last week when Gemfields unveiled more than 1.07 million carats of mostly rough emeralds up for auction. The event, which sold 740,000 carats, collected over $31.6 million. 39 companies attended the auction, and all but one placed their bids. The auction met a steep climb of 63% per carat than an auction held by Gemfields last December. The auction house will host its next event in November.
