When brands grow big, their hearts need to grow too. At least that seems to be the way Emirates and Montblanc have taken, by pitching in $90,000 for two charities, namely, The Smile Train and the Emirates Airline Foundation, to end their joint bid onboard competition. As per the contest, bids were made for a limited edition Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec TimeWriter Collection timepiece made exclusively for Emirates. The watch with a two-tone dial design in 18-carat red gold celebrating the 190th anniversary of the chronograph.
Bids started at $45,000, and the watch attracted 87 bids. The winning bid was worth $90,000. While the money goes to charity, the lucky anonymous winner can stake claim to a First Class Emirates flights and a two-night stay at the luxurious Montblanc Chateau, LeLocle.
