Limited edition Janet Sheed Roberts Glenfiddich 55yo to be auctioned in India

To commemorate the 110th birthday of Scotland’s oldest living woman Janet Sheed Roberts in August 2011, William Grant & Sons recently pulled the veil off this rare and exclusive whiskey, a Glenfiddich 55yo produced specially for the occasion. In all, 11 bottles have been produced, each of which will be auctioned, with the money raised to be directed to various charities. The first of these was sold on the 14th of December at the Bonham’s whisky auction in Edinburgh for a whopping £46,850 with the second bottle fetching £44,000 on the 10th of February. This week, yet another bottle will be auctioned off in India, with the proceeds to going to RADF charity. Also for the uninitiated, Janet Sheed Roberts is the celebrated granddaughter of William Grant, the leading supplier known for some of the finest whiskeys ever bottled.
