Time and watches on auction don’t wait for anyone. Especially if there is a collector’s item and very few in number! Well, that’s precisely what the New York based-auction house called Patrizzi and Co. have in mind! They plan to play hosts on Dec. 14 for a special auction tagged ‘The “Exceptional Watchmaking Masterpieces” sale,’ which aims to bring horologists into the limelight by showcasing their innovation talent, design, manufacturing excellence, and investment value. The auction will bring 93 watches, clocks, and accessories under the hammer.
The prominent products to go under the hammer include a 1940-Vacheron Constantin extra-flat, 18-karat pink-gold minute-repeater which has been valued at $180,000 to $220,000; especially chosen precious watch keys, valued at $1,200 – $3,500 each; a rare collection of Patek Philippe watches with unending calendars and customized dial faces, to earn a minimum of $750,000 to $900,000; a champlevé wristwatch marking the Chinese Year of the Goat, valued between $35,000 and $50,000; and a Patek Philippe Annual Calendar and several trophies owned by U.S. baseball superstar Lenny Dykstra which is touted to fetch anything between $28,000 and $35,000.
