Rare Macallan Master Lalique Collection chest goes under the Bohnams hammer


The Island Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong saw Bohnams put some Fine and Rare Wines & Rarest Single Malt Whisky under the hammer. The star of the sales is the Macallan Master Lalique Collection which is the only set produced and available worldwide. The Macallan Lalique collection chest features 3 crystal decanters that have been aged 50, 55, and 57 years. The lot was estimated to fetch between HK$460,000 and HK$590,000, but finally it went under the hammer for HK$595,000 ($76,300) inclusive of Buyer’s Premium. And this included a Master Collection certificate signed by Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker Ian Morrison.


The set consisted of the three malts, Distilled and bottled by The Macallan Distillers Ltd., Craigellachie filled inside Laique Crystal decanter decanters.
They include Macallan Lalique-50 year old 750ml Single Malt with 46% volume and The Macallan Lalique-55-year-old 750ml Single Malt with a nicked copper buckle the bottle with 40.1 % Volume, which is one of 430 limited edition bottles ever made.
The set completes with The Macallan Lalique-57 year old 750ml Single Malt, 48.5% volume one of limited edition of 400 bottles. The three decanters were presented in a custom-made Macallan sherry wood chest.
