Rolex owned by India’s first President to be auctioned by Sotheby’s

The Rolex watch belonging to the first president of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, is going under the hammer. Sotheby’s has announced they will auction this watch next month in Geneva. This post-World War II era Rolex with 18K pink gold Oyster has India’s enameled map on its face. On the map, it also displays the date 26 January 1950, which was the Republic of India’s inauguration. This historic watch is expected to sell anywhere from $222,000 to $444,000.
