White House gatecrasher Salahi to put her popular red sari under the hammer

Who says you have to do something productive to be famous. Just be daring, and chances are you might make it bigger than being featured on YouTube. You don’t believe me? Then you’ve definitely got to know about Michaele Salahi and her husband Tareq who gate-crashed President Barack Obama’s first State Dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Nov 24, 2009. Well, after being in the news for the reality show ‘The Real Housewives of DC,’ the lady in question is all set to auction the vibrant red sari she wore for the infamous incident.
Update – The sari worn by the White House gate crasher went under the hammer for $7,000. James Packard-Gomez, CEO of the salon Erwin Gomez Salon, was the lucky winning bidder.

Salahi told a news agency that she plans to give the auction proceeds to the Haitian earthquake and multiple sclerosis people.
