Having created an extravagant gold themed perfume in the past, Giorgio Armani is all set to create another sensation in the world of perfumery with the limited edition fragrance ‘Crystal Edition.’ Bottled in nothing less than a solid block of crystal, Crystal Edition sees Giorgio updating the art deco inspired bottle that held the first perfume he ever created back in 1982. The unique flacon has been crafted by master workers in Saint Louis, and each step of the production process is based on century-old expertise, according to the brand. Each bottle comes in a deluxe coffret with two 30-ml refills and a black crystal rod to serve as an applicator.
The fragrance itself is described as a Chypre accord –a favorite of the designer– and includes notes of narcissi, jasmine flowers, rose petals and tuberoses. In 2012 when Crystal Edition was launched, it was announced that 2 pieces with the serial numbers N°3 and N°8, would be made available at World Duty Free’s store in Heathrow Terminal 5.
It was recently reported that a Russian couple had purchased a Crystal Edition feminine fragrance Dubai International Airport Concourse A, for €4,250 (or $5,818). The piece they purchased was N°27.
