Putting an end to all speculations that sprouted last year about Gucci launching its first make-up line, the Italian fashion house has revealed that the brand will be releasing it in September this year. The debut cosmetic collection will be produced with the consumer goods company Procter & Gamble. Gucci in partnership with P&G has released two fragrances in the past: Gucci Premiere and Gucci Guilty.
Gucci has chosen Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Princess Caroline and fifth in line to the throne of Monaco, to front the campaign. The royal model has already appeared in Gucci’s “Forever Now” campaign.
“Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman,” the brand’s creative director Frida Giannini says in a release. “Aside from her striking beauty, she is sophisticated, successful, and iconic.”
The new collection will include makeup for eyes, face, lips, and nail polish, plus brushes and skin-prep products. No further information about the cosmetics collection has been released yet.
