Bespoke beauty trunk by Moynat and Guerlain celebrate the re-launch of Orient Express

While travelling sifting through your suitcase to find eye shadows, lipsticks and other beauty aides isn’t really your idea of adventure. French leather goods maker Moynat has teamed with Guerlain and the recently re-launched Orient Express luxury train on a malle de beauté or beauty case. The ingenious multi-fold case with various beauty products by Guerlain let your essential travel companions on an organized and glamorous voyage.

The strong yet lightweight case sheathed in vegetal-tanned calfskin in the signature Orient-Express blue, lined in beige textile is an origami of playful secrets. However, the magic of the beauty case can only truly be discovered upon opening it. The backlit mirror illuminates automatically upon lifting the lid, displaying the bespoke interior of the box. The custom-made drawers have hinges made from apple wood, chosen for its resistance as much as for its fine grain and sublime color.

The drawers have been designed to gently clasp a perfume bottle in place when closed. As all the drawers fan out, they reveal a vintage Baccarat bottle of Shalimar perfume from the Roaring Twenties.

The malle de beauté required 250 hours of meticulous precision and is available between €4,000 ($5,539) and €40,000 ($55,385).
