Cosmetics and skincare label MAC is always looking for interesting ways themes and collaborations to incorporate into their products. Be it a Simpsons inspired collection or a collaboration with mother daughter duo Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, the brand is all about offering a fresh take on make up every season. Their latest collaboration with designer Prabal Gurung has been a long time coming, and we’ve finally brought you your first look at the collection.
Gurung’s 14 piece collection will include a bronzing powder and buffer brush priced at $70 as well as eyeshadow duos costing $40. Lipsticks and the ever popular lipglasses will retail at $30 each while Chromographic pencils including a black eye pencil will be available at a lower price. The posh product packaging reflects Gurung’s effortlessly luxurious aesthetic and are a far cry from MAC’s standard black packaging. The products are decked out in gold and feature a simple but captivating linked diamond pattern.
MAC and Prabal Gurung have already been partners in crime for almost 5 years with MACH handling the makeup for Gurung’s Ready to Wear shows, so the make-up collaboration felt like a natural next step, according to Gurung. He also cited his mother’s makeup regimen and vanity table as the inspiration behind the collection saying, “I’d see my mom come home from work and put on all of this makeup and it would be a total transformation happening and [I saw] the confidence that came with that.”
This won’t be the last we’ve seen of the designer’s beauty ventures. He stated that he would love to expand further into color cosmetics and possibly develop a fragrance of his own. Prabal Gurung for MAC will be available in stores on November 26th.
