Bonhams to get swanky new headquarters in London

Auction house Bonhams is stepping up its appearance with a new international headquarters based in London, offering a class apart and much-advanced salesroom to its prestigious customers. The £30 million ($48.7 million) building, which will be constructed at the current location on 101 New Bond Street, will be designed by award-winning architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands. While the existing building remains, a futuristic 21st-century structure will emerge from behind, which boasts an array of modern facilities and auction experiences. The new system will feature 3 new and more significant salesrooms, preview galleries, a café, and a well-lit workspace for its staff. The project, once approved, is expected to be complete in December 2013.
