The downtown Los Angeles skyline glittered as the Marriott-Ritz Carlton tower opened to the public yesterday night. The tower was expected to make a sparkling debut at night with lights in the city’s newest high-rise snapping on for the first time. Owners of the 54-story Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott tower rigged lights on the top 27 levels to flick on the floor by floor in a rising wave to celebrate the hotel’s completion, which is the last piece of the L.A. Live entertainment complex. This amazing light display was estimated to cost about $100,000! The most befitting way to celebrate the opening of the $2.5 billion towers, this new tower is undoubtedly the highlight of the city’s skyline.
The L.A. Live, situated next to the Staples Center, is already home to Nokia Theatre and other attractions.
