1953 Siata 208S Spyder owned by Steve McQueen for sale for $1.295 million

If you claim to be the biggest fan of iconic actors, Steve McQueen, here is a piece of memorabilia belonging to the legendary actor you definitely must own (given you manage to cough up the heavy dough of course). So, for all you wealthy Steve McQueen fans who can afford to splurge on the actors’ memorabilia, this offer is for you. California’s Fantasy Junction offers for sale the sporty 1953 Siata 208S Spyder, once owned by the famed star, for $1.295 million! One of only 35 ever built, this Italian roadster is one of the first foreign sports cars owned by the actor. The actor purchased the brand new Siata 208S Spyder from McAfee Engineering. The car was subsequently bought from McQueen by Bruce Sand, a doctor and former UCLA Medical School student who claims that the actor had removed the front nose badge, put a Ferrari shield on it, and called it his “little Ferrari.”

The car boasts a 2.3 Litre 8-cylinder Fiat engine and features a scarce set of Heuer racing instruments (watch and stop-watch) affixed to the dashboard. So if you claim to be the biggest fan of the “King of Cool’, you had better park this beauty in your abode.
The iconic car was formerly part of the Cars of Steve McQueen exhibition at The Petersen Auto Museum in Los Angeles and featured in the 2007 book McQueen’s Machines. Restored to perfection (with the engine completely rebuilt), this car has won accolades at many Concours d’elegance.
